Paulowniadag

First Paulownia Day at Trayplant:
a successful event dedicated to innovation and sustainability

The Paulownia, the fastest growing tree in the world, is known for its impressive growth due to its exceptionally high CO2 absorption. In China, this tree is even planted along motorways to capture particulate matter and thus contribute to cleaner air quality. In the Netherlands, too, the Paulownia can make a (small) but valuable contribution to a healthier living environment.

What makes this tree particularly interesting is its versatility in various production processes. Whether it is wood production, the manufacture of poles, or the production of wood fibres, the Paulownia offers opportunities for a wide range of sectors, such as livestock farming, arable farming, the construction sector and, of course, Trayplant itself.

In addition, Paulownia cultivation fits perfectly with regenerative agriculture, a progressive form of agriculture that focuses on reducing water consumption and other resources, while combating land degradation and deforestation. This type of agriculture improves soil quality, biodiversity, climate resilience and water management, while making agriculture more productive and profitable.

The first edition of Paulownia Day 2024 was a great success. We received around 200 registrations in advance, but a rough count showed that between 300 and 350 people had found their way to De Leeuwerik. All visitors left the event with new insights, fond memories and perhaps even the idea of planting Paulownia trees on their own vacant land.

Demo Project Plant Material and Field Trip Delphy

23-10-2025

On 9 January 2026, Van der Avoird Trayplant will host an organised excursion to explain aspects of the European PlantGoed project. This day will be combined with a Delphy field trip, during which Van der Avoird Trayplant's various production facilities and cultivation techniques will be presented.

The European PlantGoed project is an Interreg project (Flanders–Netherlands) that focuses on the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for the year-round production of soft fruits, such as strawberries and raspberries. The central focus is on improving and refining tailor-made plant propagation techniques. The project aims to increase efficiency and sustainability within the soft fruit sector through system innovation, with a strong focus on local and regional cooperation between research, growers and other chain partners.

NED Customer evening

23-10-2025

On Thursday 23 October, NED Personeel and v.d. Avoird Trayplant jointly organised a knowledge event on the theme of “The new temporary employment” from 1 January 2026.

The rules in the temporary employment sector will be significantly tightened from 2026 onwards. Equal terms of employment, the new pension scheme, the shortened phase system, the Flexible Workers (Greater Security) Act and the WTTA admission requirement. Naturally, this will also have consequences for Trayplant. What consequences? In any case, we are now well prepared. Partly thanks to the knowledge of NED Personeel.
